Offering a wide range of team and individual sports across all seasons, the program encourages students to develop skills, improve performance, and embrace competition while upholding the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance.

Across the court, field, track, and pool, NYA athletes are inspired by dedicated coaching, strong team culture, and the pride that comes with representing their school. Students build strength, agility, and strategic thinking while learning how commitment and preparation translate into success. Upper School athletes also take on meaningful leadership roles, serving as captains and mentors to younger players and helping to shape a positive, competitive team environment.

The Upper School athletic program is inclusive and supportive, welcoming both experienced athletes and students trying a sport for the first time. Practices and competitions are designed to challenge students while reinforcing collaboration, resilience, and school spirit.

Participation in Upper School athletics extends beyond competition. Students develop confidence, time management, and leadership skills that support success in the classroom and beyond. Throughout the year, NYA teams come together to celebrate achievement, strengthen community, and contribute to the energy and pride that define Upper School life.
