Performing Arts

At North Yarmouth Academy, our Performing Arts program encourages students to find their voice, build confidence, and bring ideas to life on stage and beyond. Whether singing, acting, and/or playing an instrument, students of all levels are challenged to explore, take risks, and grow. Our approach blends high standards with creativity—offering diverse musical styles, strong foundations in theory and technique, access to music technology, and real-world experiences like performing, collaborating, and even promoting their work.
What sets NYA apart is opportunity. From classical ensembles to jazz, steel band, bluegrass, and student-created groups, performers can follow their passions—or start something entirely new. Our choral and instrumental programs build skill and artistry, while theater brings students together in dynamic, collaborative productions both on stage and behind the scenes.
From early experiences in Lower School to advanced study, including AP Music Theory and our Diploma with Distinction in Music: Entrepreneurship, Performance, and Community, students are supported at every step. They perform in concerts, festivals, and community venues—gaining confidence and real-world experience along the way.

Visual Arts

At North Yarmouth Academy, our Visual Arts program encourages students to explore, experiment, and express their ideas with confidence. From drawing and painting to sculpture, digital media, printmaking, and design, students are encouraged to take creative risks and develop their unique artistic voice. Whether they are just beginning or are deeply committed artists, every student finds space to grow in a supportive, student-centered environment.
What sets NYA apart is access and opportunity. Small classes, dedicated studio spaces, and expert faculty ensure individualized guidance and meaningful feedback. Students build strong technical skills while also learning to think critically, solve problems creatively, and communicate through their work.
