Why Choose NYA?

Postgraduate students at NYA benefit from:

  • Small class sizes for personalized attention
  • One-on-one mentoring from teachers, advisors, and coaches
  • A culture of honesty and integrity within a strong community

Graduates leave NYA with strong skills in writing, critical thinking, and self-expression—ready to thrive in college and discover their unique paths in life.

Curriculum

Our faculty and advisors work closely with each student to create a customized academic plan that aligns with their goals. Students can choose from three academic paths:

  • Humanities
  • Math & Science
  • Fine Arts

Course options include:

  • Advanced Placement (AP) classes
  • Visual & performing arts
  • Level III and IV language courses in Spanish, French, and Latin

Students may also pursue independent studies in areas of personal interest and passion. Beyond academics, opportunities abound in robotics, arts, clubs, NEPSAC ice hockey, community service, and more.

College Counseling

From day one, postgraduate students meet one-on-one with an NYA college counselor to:

  • Identify colleges that fit their goals
  • Navigate the application process step-by-step

Proven Success:

Virtually all NYA graduates attend a four-year college, with some choosing a gap year or junior hockey before enrolling.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Postgraduate students design an individualized afternoon activity program, which may include:
