From Main Street to major streaming hits, the NYA graduate behind productions for Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon returns to campus to inspire the Class of 2026.

North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) welcomes Conor Welch ’01 back to Main Street as the 2026 Commencement Speaker. Welch grew up in Auburn, Maine and graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 2001, where he was a captain of the Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse teams and was president of the Student Council. After graduating from NYA, he attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received his B.A. in Communications in 2005. Welch moved quickly thereafter to Los Angeles, California to pursue his dream of making movies and television shows in Hollywood.

Conor started a production company called Stoller Global Solutions with filmmaker Nicholas Stoller in 2018. Through their Sony TV deal, Welch has executive produced Platonic for Apple TV+ (now in its third season), Goosebumps for Disney+ and Panhandle for Roku.

Welch also produced the feature film Incoming, written and directed by John and Dave Chernin, for Spyglass and Artists Road, which premiered on Netflix in August 2024 as well as the 2025 Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell Amazon feature film, You’re Cordially Invited.

Prior to partnering with Stoller, Welch was an executive at the Fox Broadcasting Corporation from 2014-2017. There he oversaw and developed a number of half-hour sitcoms including The Grinder starring Rob Lowe and Bob’s Burgers. Welch previously served as the Head of Feature Films for Funny or Die and Vice President of Development and Production for Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films. His first “real job” was as an assistant to a talent agent at Creative Artists Agency.

Conor currently lives in Cheviot Hills, California with his wife Julianne and their three children, Neve (13), Nina (10) and Benjamin (7).
