January 11, 2022
Hello NYA Summer Camp Families,
I hope that you are all staying healthy and well. Nothing makes me look forward to camp more than a chilly day like today! I want to give a quick update on camp registration.
As many of you know, I work in the office at NYA’s Middle School, and as you might imagine, things have been insanely busy with all that is going on in the world with COVID. I was hoping to open registration next week, but I would really like to give myself and my team the time to update the website with our new offerings and descriptions so that you can have a concrete plan when you go in to register. That said, our goal is to open registration for 2022 on Monday, January 31. We will update the website shortly with dates, themes, and the quick glance sheet to help with your planning. Please check your email often for updates.
I am happy to report that all of our partners have signed back on to join us this summer. We are adding a third week of Seacoast Soccer Camp and several more weeks of Brick By Brick Lego Camp. We have many of our wonderful counselors and junior counselors signed back up to lead the way this summer, which I am beyond thrilled about.
We are not raising the prices on any of our summer camps this year, despite the steep increase in supply and staffing costs. We did, however, make the decision to no longer offer early/before care and to charge for after care to help mitigate some of our staffing costs. Camper morning drop off/sign in will be between 8:00 and 8:30 this year, with all camp sessions starting at 8:30. After care will be a flat rate of $50 per week and will run from 3:00-5:00 p.m. which is a slight change. When signing up for sessions, you must also sign up for after care along with each session, if desired. Please make sure to double check your order so that you can ensure that you have what you need.
We have some really fun themes planned for the Panther Cubs and Panther Tots, and Super Summer Camps are sure to be a blast again this summer with tons of fun activities planned, including a continuation of our enormously popular tradition of FUN FRIDAY with all the water fun you can imagine. We are hoping to be able to take field trips this year but will have a clearer picture once the summer gets closer.
As of now, we will be following NYA’s COVID-19 procedures and guidelines, including masking while indoors. Similar to last year, masks will not be required outdoors. More information and details will come as we get closer to summer.
I am so looking forward to having another wonderful summer with our awesome staff team and campers.
Looking forward to sunnier days,
Director of Summer Programs
