Notification About Water Testing at NYA

February 15, 2022

Dear Families,

NYA is required to test samples of the water on campus for lead levels on a regular basis. If the levels are above the normal threshold, we will report the findings to the school community. NYA received its most recent results from testing and found that some of our samples recorded levels higher than the acceptable four parts per billion. The results of these tests and additional information may be found in these linked documents below:

This has not impacted all water on campus. The following mitigation efforts have been completed or are currently underway:

  • We have disabled water fountains that were found to have elevated levels of lead until the issue has been remedied and confirmation completed.
  • We have posted “not for consumption” signs on sinks that were found to have elevated levels of lead until the issue has been remedied and the confirmation completed.

We will continue to address remediation of this issue and test water systems regularly as required. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Kevin Spencer
Director of Facilities
