Yarmouth, Maine, December 7, 2022: The puck drops on the second annual Travis Roy Memorial Hockey Game between Roy’s two alma maters, the North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) Panthers and the Seawolves of Tabor Academy, on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. in NYA’s Travis Roy Ice Arena. A reception with NYA and Tabor alumni, friends, and members of the Roy family will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the game on the second floor. Travis’s sister, Tobi, and her husband Keith Van Orden will drop the ceremonial first puck.
The annual match-up between the schools now bears Travis’s name in remembrance of his devotion to philanthropy, motivational speaking, and advocacy for spinal cord injury research. In doing so, Travis Roy brought honor and distinction to both educational institutions.
“We value the opportunity to celebrate Travis’s life and legacy through this annual matchup with Tabor,” said NYA Head of School Ben Jackson. “We are honored to have Travis’s family with us today.”
