August 29, 2022: The artwork of former North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) Fine Arts Chair, Susan C. M. Riley (Fahlgren) adorns the walls of the Curtis Gallery from now through September. Her twenty-nine oil paintings and mixed media pieces are for sale. “It’s great to hang work again in the Curtis Gallery,” said Riley. “I plan to donate 50% of sales to the NYA Fine Arts Department.” The scenes in her work reflect her love of the coastline and gardens of Maine.
Susan spent twenty-two years (1985-2007) at NYA teaching Upper School visual arts and chairing the fine arts department. Her nephew, Colby Myer, follows in her footsteps, teaching Upper School visual arts at NYA. Susan has two grandchildren, a great-niece, and great-nephew currently attending NYA. For information about her work, go to scmyer.com or call or text Susan at 207-400-2683.
