Summer 2021 Activity Update

July 1, 2021

Our number one goal this summer is to keep our campers, staff, and all community members healthy during summer activities. To that end, we’d like to outline our guidelines with respect to activities and spectators.

NYA Upper School Summer Sport Activities

  • Masks are optional inside and out, regardless of vaccination status
  • Masks are strongly encouraged to be worn by all non-vaccinated participants/staff/spectators
  • Participants/staff/spectators should have a mask handy for potential need/use
  • All participants/staff/spectators are encouraged to socially distance and use hand sanitizer whenever possible
  • No locker room use is permitted during summer activities
  • Participants/staff/spectators are encouraged to sell-screen prior to attending any NYA summer activity
  • Participants/staff/spectators must stay home when feeling ill, report any positive COVID cases to their coach and/or Kelsy Ross, Athletic Director, immediately
  • Coaches are required to keep an accurate physical attendance list of all students and staff at NYA summer activities. These lists will be submitted to Kelsy for CDC contact tracing when/if a positive case is identified
  • Coaches are NOT responsible for tracking spectator attendance inside/outside

NYA Summer Programs

  • Summer camp staff and campers must wear masks unless eating or outside and socially distanced

General Information

  • Masks are optional on campus (general use) for NYA this summer
  • Fall 2021 guidelines and return-to-campus details will be issued ahead of NYA preseason activities based on the COVID climate, CDC, state, and MPA
