Ben Stefanini NYA Fitness & Wellness Coach

Yarmouth, Maine, October 3, 2023: North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is pleased to announce Benjamin Stefanini as the new Fitness & Wellness Coach. Stefanini will take up residence in the new Fitness & Wellness Center at NYA’s Travis Roy Arena. He is tasked with developing fitness programming for NYA’s Middle and Upper School students through their participation in afterschool activities. He will also work as a member of NYA’s wellness team, collaborating with campus constituents creating fitness and wellness curriculum across the Lower, Middle, and Upper School Divisions. His expertise is also available to all NYA faculty and staff.

“I hope to work with coaches and staff to enhance the student-athlete’s athletic ability to compete in their sports, while learning and practicing healthy fitness choices,” said Stefanini.

“We are thrilled to develop our community fitness and wellness programming under Ben’s guidance,” expressed NYA Athletic Director Kelsy Ross. “His enthusiasm, experience working with various student groups, and desire to collaborate with others will ensure successful experiences at NYA. The programming will span throughout our Lower, Middle, and Upper School students and will grow to include our faculty, staff, and extended NYA communities. Ben has fantastic experiences and ideas to introduce to NYA, and we cannot wait to get started!”

Stefanini comes to NYA from Maxway Performance (Greenland, NH) and Cliff House Maine (Cape Neddick) where he is the in-house fitness trainer. He holds a Masters in Exercise Science with a concentration in Performance and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania and certifications as a NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Level 1, and SafeSpot, Hubspot Social Media certification.
