Sam Manders Named NYA Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach

NYA Lacrosse Coach 2019 MandersFebruary 27, 2019:  North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is happy to announce Sam Manders as head coach of the boys varsity lacrosse program. He is a member of the 207Lacrosse coaching staff where he is one of the most sought-after coaches in Southern Maine. He takes over the NYA program from Glenn Gorden.

“Those who have worked directly with Coach Manders strongly recommended him for this position. He has a thorough knowledge and love of the game and has committed himself to coaching lacrosse. We look forward to him taking responsibility of this great group of student-athletes,” said NYA Athletic Director, Jack Hardy.

Manders is a 2002 graduate of Canton High School in Canton, New York where he was a three-year varsity starter. He earned All-Conference honors his junior and senior years and was voted League MVP his senior year. His leadership led Canton High School to an undefeated conference schedule in 2002. After a post-graduate year at Kimball Union Academy, he attended SUNY Cortland, where he played on the varsity lacrosse team in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Since moving to Maine, Manders has helped build the 207Lacrosse program while also becoming an NFHS and NCAA referee.
