North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is proud to announce the 2026 inductees into the Edgar F. White '38 Athletic Hall of Fame: Henry Sterling '10, Dan Bartlett '04, and the 1994 and 1995 NYA Field Hockey Teams.

The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and teams whose accomplishments have brought distinction to North Yarmouth Academy through excellence in athletic performance, leadership, sportsmanship, and contributions to the NYA community.

The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 2, 2026, during Come Home to NYA Weekend. A luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in the NYA Gym.

Henry Sterling '10

One of the most accomplished distance runners in North Yarmouth Academy history, Henry Sterling '10 excelled as a three-sport athlete in soccer, indoor track, and outdoor track before continuing his career at Dartmouth College and on the national stage.

During his time at NYA, Sterling helped lead the Panthers to three Maine Class C Outdoor Track State Championships while becoming one of the state's premier distance runners. As a senior, he captured individual state championships in the 800 meters, mile, and two mile, while anchoring the state champion 4x800 relay team to a meet-record performance. He also earned multiple Western Maine Conference honors, captained the soccer team, and was recognized as one of Maine's top high school athletes.

At Dartmouth College, Sterling competed in cross country and track & field, helping the Big Green qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships while earning NCAA East Regional qualification and Ivy League recognition.

Following college, Sterling continued to excel at the national level, qualifying for both the 2020 and 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, becoming a two-time Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier and cementing his place among NYA's most distinguished student-athletes.

Dan Bartlett '04

Dan Bartlett '04 established himself as one of the finest hockey players to come through North Yarmouth Academy before enjoying a standout collegiate career at Princeton University.

A three-sport athlete at NYA, Bartlett earned First Team All-State honors in hockey while also receiving all-conference recognition in baseball and golf. During his senior year, he was named a Travis Roy Award finalist and was recognized as NYA's Winter Male Athlete of the Year.

After graduating, Bartlett captained the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs to an Eastern Junior Hockey League championship before joining Princeton University.

Over four seasons with the Tigers, Bartlett appeared in 119 games, scoring 42 goals and 79 career points. He led Princeton with 16 goals during both his junior and senior seasons, earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors as a senior, and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team in each of his four collegiate seasons. His combination of athletic excellence, leadership, and academic achievement exemplifies the values celebrated by the Hall of Fame.

1994 and 1995 NYA Field Hockey Teams

The 1994 and 1995 North Yarmouth Academy Field Hockey teams represent one of the greatest eras in the history of Panther Athletics.

Together, the two teams lost only two games over two seasons, establishing a standard of excellence that transformed the NYA field hockey program.

The 1994 Panthers captured the program's first-ever Maine Class C State Championship, a milestone achievement that launched NYA into statewide prominence. The following season, the Panthers returned to the state championship game, finishing as Class C State Runner-Up and demonstrating that their success was no one-year accomplishment.

The remarkable consistency, competitiveness, and championship culture established by these teams laid the foundation for future state championship teams and helped shape North Yarmouth Academy into one of Maine's premier field hockey programs for years to come.

Edgar F. White '38 Athletic Hall of Fame

The Edgar F. White '38 Athletic Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors whose achievements have had a lasting impact on North Yarmouth Academy athletics. The Hall of Fame celebrates excellence across generations while preserving the rich traditions and history of Panther Athletics.
