New Student Math & Language Selection and Placement
NYA utilizes placement evaluations to determine the appropriate course placement for students in certain subjects. All newly admitted middle and upper school students must complete placement evaluations for math. Students entering Grades 8 – 12 may also complete placement evaluations for French, Latin, or Spanish. Please complete the steps below to assist us in preparing your placement evaluations. Once these steps have been completed, placement evaluations will be mailed home with instructions in May. Upper school students will meet with the Head of Upper School to discuss course sign-ups after submitting completed placement evaluations.
- Current Mathematics Instructor Confidential Request: Please print out this request and deliver it to your student’s current math teacher.
- Language Study Selection: For students entering Grades 7 – 12 only. Please review and select a language to study. Those continuing in a language they are already studying will need to complete a placement evaluation.
