Parent Drive-Thru Materials Pickup
March 21, 2020
Dear Students and Families,
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Yesterday, I sent several announcements regarding remote learning and resources available to our families. All school announcements, along with updated resources, may be found on our NYA COVID-19 web page, located through this link or the NYA homepage.
We are working hard to gather student materials and pack up lockers, desks, and cubbies. We are ahead of schedule and have moved the drive-thru pickup day to Sunday, March 22. We changed the date for a few reasons. Most significant are the continually changing restrictions on gatherings and travel. Additionally, the forecast for Tuesday calls for unsettled weather. To facilitate a safe and orderly pick-up of materials, please follow the attached schedule. Parents will drive through the Middle School parking lot, and materials will be placed in cars by a member of the faculty or staff. We have done our best to pack these materials in an efficient manner and include whatever school materials were left in students’ lockers. Please note that parents of toddlers do not need to participate in Sunday’s pick-up.
It is perfectly understandable to have questions regarding remote learning. We will continue to send updates to students. The first week has been designed as a “soft opening” to allow everyone to become acclimated to the technology. Student work will also be available this first week, which will allow everyone to get settled back into somewhat normal routines. We will be available to address any questions as students adjust to the new format. We look forward to working together and supporting one another.
Again, I wish everyone the very best, and we are here to support your family. We will stay in contact, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can be helpful. I am looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus.
