Lace ’em Up with the Black Bears!

North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) will be hosting the University of Maine Black Bear men’s Division I hockey team at Travis Roy Ice Arena on Sunday, November 19 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for the team’s annual Skate With The Bears. This event is free and open to the public. No sticks. Please bring your own skates and helmets as they are required on the ice. Come take this opportunity to skate, meet, and interact with the best hockey players in the state of Maine. Grab a player autograph sheet and collect as many signatures as you can. Be sure to snap a few pictures as well. Who knows, one day these players may be on the world stage, and you can say you met them.

“Bringing UMaine’s Men’s Hockey to any venue in Southern Maine is exciting for our area of the state. To have them on NYA ice makes it even that much more special for our school,” said NYA varsity boys hockey coach Tyler Walsh. Walsh is the son of former University of Maine hockey coach Shawn Walsh, who coached the Black Bears for 16 seasons and won two National Championships. “The University of Maine will always have a special place in my family’s heart, and I am proud to have the Black Bears here at NYA.”
