Ways of Giving
NYA accepts the following types of gifts:
Cash gifts will be acknowledged for the full amount thereof on the date of the postmark, if mailed, or the date of receipt, if hand-delivered.

A credit card gift is recognized at full cash value on the date that our Business Office processes the charge and it is accepted at the bank. The Academy accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. You may give through our secure online portal or contact the NYA Development Office directly at 207-847-5406.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many employers match their employee gifts. This not only benefits the Academy, but may qualify you for a higher recognition category. To find out if your company qualifies for a matching gift please contact the NYA Development Office.
Stocks may be given to the Academy and are eligible for tax deductions. Transfer instructions for marketable securities and delivery of the securities can be made electronically (via DTC) to our investment account at Harpswell Capital Advisors:

You may gift commercial or residential real estate to realize tax benefits. Real estate gifts are subject to the Board of Trustee Gift Acceptance Policy. If considering a gift of real estate, please contact the Head of School or the Development Office for more information.
You may name NYA as the owner and irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Life insurance gifts will be accepted with the gift credit given to the donor for the policy’s cash surrender value on the day of gift, and with the understanding that NYA may cash in the policy at any time.
Planned gifts come in many forms, from bequests to charitable trusts. Some options provide income to you and your family; others may have significant tax benefits; and all of them ensure healthy future support for NYA.
