Yarmouth, Maine, September 27, 2022: A ceremony at North Yarmouth Academy’s (NYA) reimagined Travis Roy Ice Arena and new fitness and wellness center will celebrate an important construction milestone. Wednesday, September 28, at 1:30 p.m. NYA will hold a topping out ceremony as Hebert Construction lifts and sets the last beam on the new Fitness and Wellness Center expansion. At this short event, NYA Head of School Ben Jackson, project benefactors, trustees, and guests will sign their names on the beam before it is hoisted into place. The NYA student body and faculty signed the beam during Homecoming festivities last week. These signatures leave a permanent imprint on campus becoming part of the project built for them and all future Panthers.
“This steel beam marks an important construction milestone,” said Jackson. “In setting the beam in place, we take a major step forward with our goal to reimagine and expand the Travis Roy Arena to include a new, modern and welcoming fitness and wellness center on our campus. The new fitness and wellness center creates a place for all students to achieve their physical and mental fitness goals.”
