Kelsy Ross NYA Athletic Director

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY NAMES KELSY ROSS AS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is excited to announce Kelsy Ross as the new Athletic Director. Ross holds a BA from Roanoke College where she was a member of the varsity soccer and varsity basketball programs. She will earn a MA in Physical Education, Athletic Administration, from Springfield College this summer. Ross was most recently the Bates College Head Women’s Soccer Coach and lecturer in the Bates Physical Education Department.

For the past nine years, Ross has held multiple roles in the Bates College Athletic Department. As head coach of the women’s soccer program, she earned NESCAC Coach of the Year Honors in 2015. She ran multiple youth camps and directed the Bates intramural program. From 2010-2013, Ross also served as assistant women’s basketball coach at Bates. Ross has held many additional positions in athletics. These include working for the Maine Olympic Development Program, Maine AAU Basketball, and in athletic facilities management. She has also held positions in the Springfield College Athletic Department and the Falmouth High School Athletic Department. She is a graduate of Greely High School.

Ross takes over a program directed by Jack Hardy for the past seven years. She commented, “I’d like to thank Head of School Ben Jackson and the members of the search committee for this opportunity and their confidence in my capabilities. I have long known the excellence that defines North Yarmouth Academy and am thrilled to be joining the community. Inheriting the blueprint that Jack Hardy – one of the most well respected athletic administrators in our state – has created, and being able to add my own twist, is both humbling and motivating. I look forward to getting started!” Hardy will remain in the position through June 30, and will begin supporting the transition immediately.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kelsy Ross as NYA’s next Athletic Director. Athletics is an integral part of the NYA program, and Kelsy stood out to the search committee from a very competitive and deep pool of applicants. We look forward to Kelsy’s leadership in the department and her support of NYA’s student athletes,” said Head of School, Ben Jackson.

There will be opportunities to meet Ross in advance of the school year.
