Hurley was a standout athlete on the NYA Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, and Softball Teams. While her athletic contributions to all sports were impressive, she earned many accolades as a field hockey forward. In the fall of 2007, Hurley was the Co-Captain, Team MVP, Western Maine All-Conference, Western Maine Class C Player of the Year, and Maine Field Hockey Association All-State player. She was instrumental in leading the team to a 15-2 record. Hurley also earned Academy recognition by receiving the Steve Morris Scholar Award for outstanding scholarship and citizenship and the Bob Hawkes Prize for her leadership and sportsmanship in 2008. After NYA, she attended Northeastern University helping the Northeastern Women’s Ice Hockey team win two ACHA National Championships. She graduated from Northeastern in 2014 and The University of Maine School of Law in 2017. Hurley’s dedication both in the classroom and in athletics has brought distinction and pride to the Academy.
