Affording NYA

We work with each family to identify
available resources that make an NYA
education possible for their students.

Investing in your Child’s Future

Tuition should not be a barrier to an NYA education.  At NYA, over 40% of families received some form of assistance last year.  Through our financial assistance program, we help close the gap between the total cost of an NYA education and what a family is able to contribute.  We are committed to supporting a student through graduation, provided a demonstrated need continues to exist.

*Current recipients must re-apply for assistance each year by the January 15 returning family deadline.

Affording NYA

Affording NYA may be more manageable than you think.  Many NYA families take advantage of one or more of the following resources to help manage the investment in their child’s education:

  • School Choice/Town Tuition
    • If you live in a town that does not offer a local school option, you may be eligible for “town tuition” to put toward the cost of attending the school of your choice.  Qualifying standards, implementation and “town tuition” amounts vary and are set by the individual town.  Check directly with your town for more information.
  • NYA funded need-based financial assistance
    • Grants from NYA are not loans and do not need to be repaid.
  • Savings Plans
  • Flexible Payment Plans
    • Two equal payments directly to NYA
    • 10 or 12 month payment plans through FACTS
  • Tuition Refund Plan
    • NYA offers an optional insurance policy that provides coverage in the event the student withdraws from the Academy after entry.  Annual costs for the TRP are 2.1% of the yearly tuition fee, payable prior to the beginning of school.
