This Privacy Policy describes the practices of North Yarmouth Academy (“NYA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) with respect to personal information we collect from and about users of our website https://www.nya.org (the “Website”).  By using our Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the terms of this Privacy Policy.  Please also check this page from time to time, as we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and your use of the Website after such updates occur shall constitute your acknowledgement that you have read and understand the updated Privacy Policy.

What This Privacy Policy Does and Does Not Cover

This Privacy Policy applies only to personal information collected by NYA through the Website, and does not apply to information collected by NYA offline or through any other means, or to information collected by third parties, as further described below.

NYA relies on third parties to perform certain functions involving the collection and processing of your personal information, including, by way of example only, maintenance and operation of the following:

  • student/family portal;
  • student/parent handbook;
  • virtual bookstore;
  • library catalog;
  • enrollment application;
  • financial aid application; and
  • payment processing in connection with donations.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any form, website, plug-in or other application that may link to or be accessible from our Website. Although we make efforts to select reputable third-party partners and oversee their performance of their responsibilities, we do not control and are not responsible for the privacy and security policies and practices of such third parties and recommend that you carefully review their privacy policies as they may differ from our own.

As further described below, we use server logs, cookies, and third-party analytics providers (which use cookies and other tracking technologies) such as Google Analytics to help us analyze how users interact with and use the Website, compile reports on the Website’s activity and about our user base as a whole, diagnose problems with our server, and administer, present, personalize, improve, and maintain our Website, including by identifying which parts of the Website are most heavily used and which portion of our audience comes from within the NYA network.

Cookies: We use “cookies,” which are pieces of information that our Website sends to your computer while you are viewing our Website.  We primarily use cookies to allow users to customize the calendars they view and to test and optimize our Website’s design and content.  We do not store the information we collect using cookies in a manner that links it to individual users or their persistent personal identifiers (such as name, e-mail address, etc.).
