Dear Families,
Thank you for visiting North Yarmouth Academy’s website. For over two hundred years, NYA has been bringing out the best in its students in Yarmouth, Maine. We have approximately 375 students ages 18 months to 18 years at our school.
The cornerstone of an NYA education is the close teacher/student interaction and the preparedness of our students for the next level. Whether it is Primary to Lower School, Lower to Middle School, Middle to Upper School, or Upper School to college and beyond, NYA students are consistently positioned for success. The number one recurring comment we hear from alumni is how prepared they were for the transition to college.
The NYA experience extends well beyond academic preparation. Our student body possesses diverse interests. At NYA, the students have the ability to explore their own unique passions through our academic distinction programs, MPA interscholastic and NEPSAC athletic teams, musical groups, drama, visual arts, academic teams, clubs, and many other extracurricular activities.
The setting for this experience is our 2o+ acre campus that combines historic buildings with new, state-of- the-art facilities like the Peter Mertz Science Center and the NYA Travis Roy Ice Arena and Fitness & Wellness Center. These buildings are surrounded by beautiful grounds and athletic fields. Most importantly, the campus is the daily home to inquisitive and thoughtful students, a dedicated and experienced faculty, and a community of families committed to providing the very best education for our children.
