On that signal, tee it up for your chance to win awards and prizes. Registration fees are $125 per player or $450 per foursome. All proceeds go to the Steve Morris Scholar Fund. Lunch and awards await you in the clubhouse at 12:30 p.m.
“This is a special tournament to honor the legacy of Steve Morris, a great teacher, coach, and mentor, and to raise funds for the scholarship program. It’s also a really fun day,” said Jim Briggs, tournament committee chair and former NYA teacher. The Steve Morris Scholar Fund was created by a group of NYA alumni and friends to honor the memory of Steve “Mo” Morris. Mo spent his entire 29-year career at NYA beginning in 1972. He is fondly remembered by the students he taught and coached. He was inducted into the Edgar F. White ’38 Athletic Hall of Fame in the fall of 2010. The Steve Morris Scholar Fund was created in 2002 to provide endowed financial aid support to two NYA eighth grade student/athletes, one boy and one girl, who are chosen annually. Each recipient will receive funds for all five years they attend NYA between their eighth and twelfth grade years.
Come play and enjoy a fun event to help ensure students who may not otherwise have the means to attend NYA are given the chance to do so and to achieve their potential. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are available including hole sponsorships, prize sponsorships, and contest sponsorships.
