North Yarmouth Academy Welcomes Coach Robinson Back to the Courts

North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) is happy to announce the hiring, and return, of Tom Robinson as the new girls varsity basketball coach. Coach Robinson headed up the NYA Boys Varsity Basketball program from 2002-2007 (photo above from the 2007 season). He left with a successful 68-31 record. Currently, Coach Robinson works as a teacher for the Cape Elizabeth School Department. Since 2010, he has been the assistant varsity / JV girls coach for the Capers. “I’m very grateful for this opportunity. NYA is a special place,” said Robinson. “I have many great memories of all the outstanding student athletes I had the opportunity to coach and look forward to meeting the current group of students.”

NYA Girls Assistant Coach, Terry Hickey is excited to return to NYA Girls Basketball, and both coaches look forward to their partnership in offering a well-rounded experience for the 2018-19 Panthers.

A hiring committee consisting of student-athletes, parents, coaches, and NYA administrators conducted the search. “NYA is excited to welcome Coach Robinson back to NYA Basketball,” said Athletic Director, Jack Hardy.

North Yarmouth Academy is an independent, college preparatory, coeducational school for toddlers to students in grade twelve. Since 1814, NYA has fostered integrity, character, and intellect in its students.
