The NYA Admission office is currently hosting a series of informal information nights in various communities throughout Maine. These gatherings provide families with an opportunity to meet NYA parents, students, faculty and admission staff and ask questions in an intimate setting. Our next information night is in Freeport on February 25th. Please call 846-2376 for more information and to find out about a gathering near you!
North Yarmouth Academy tries hard to demystify the admission process and provide as much information to families as possible. There are several ways to learn about the school:
Open House - Each fall we host an Open House that allows families to see the campus, meet faculty and students, and attend brief information panels on academic departments and programs. A reception follows hosted by the NYA Parents’ Association.
Campus Tours - Tours are given at scheduled times each week. Most tours are given by the Director of Admission or a parent volunteer, which is an excellent way to get an insider’s view of NYA.
Student Visit and Interview - The very best way to learn about the school is to come on campus for a student visit and interview. In fact, the interview with the student and parent(s) is a required aspect of the NYA admission process and will be scheduled on the visiting day. The interview gives us time to ask the applicant some questions, while giving the family an opportunity to learn more about NYA. Classroom visits begin October 14 and are hosted by Student Ambassadors. Since the visits and interviews are required and only a limited number of students can be scheduled for each visiting day, the appointment book fills up quickly. Please call the Admission Office as early as possible at 207.846.2376 to schedule a visit and interview.
