North Yarmouth Academy Presents "Into the Woods"

January 26, 2010, Yarmouth, Maine: North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) presents James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's delightfully complex fractured fairy tale "Into the Woods." What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children. The play is an intricate, intertwining tale of characters following the same path, on the same day. Their stories get tangled, and as they face a genuine threat to their community, the characters realize that all actions have consequences, and their lives are inescapably interdependent. With wit and wisdom the authors present a parable about the loss of innocence, the joys and sorrows of adulthood, and the price paid for getting the things you really want.
